At neurobetter, our Board of Trustees is dedicated to enhancing mental health support for neurodivergent individuals. Comprising members with diverse backgrounds—including charity leadership, mental health advocacy, and lived experience—they provide strategic guidance and ensure our resources are utilized effectively and ethically. Their commitment to our mission drives us to continually improve and expand our services as we grow.

Alex Taylor

Alex Taylor  (she/her)

Chair of Trustees BA (Hons), FCMI

Alex has worked in the not for profit sector for over 18 years in a number of roles, most recently in Strategic Engagement encompassing Policy and Thought Leadership; Community Development (online and in-person); Volunteer and Stakeholder Management; Governance; Member Empowerment; and Partnership Development. She has primarily spent her career in senior roles at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), and she is also a MemberWise ambassador specialising in governance.

Mark Ainsworth

Mark Ainsworth  (he/him)

Trustee MA, MSc

Mark's 25 year career has been all about helping people make decisions with data, starting from his degrees in Psychology from Oxford and Operational Research (Decision Maths) from Southampton, and then applied in various industries. These include British Airways, race strategy at the McLaren F1 team, Tesco's Customer Insight and Site Research teams, as Technology Director of Talent Innovations (a psychometrics business), and as Head of Analytics at Smart Steps, the Big Data business in Telefonica. Most recently, he set up and grew a 30-strong data science function in Schroders. Over recent years Mark discovered that many members of his family and his team had neurodiverse conditions including dyslexia, ADHD and Autism, and in educating himself on these discovered the power of understanding and harnessing neurodiversity in life and work.

Jess Avery

Jess Avery  (she/her)

Trustee Assoc CIPD

Jess’ professional background includes working as a HR Advisor for the Cabinet Office, and she currently splits her time between working as a Senior Talent Management and Skills Advisor for the Environment Agency with supporting people with autism as an autistic career coach. Jess is autistic herself, and combines her lived experience with strategic HR and policy knowledge to support neurobetter. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation.

Louis Barnett

Louis Barnett  (he/him)

Trustee

Louis is proudly neurodivergent, was home educated due to his “learning disabilities” and has experience as an entrepreneur from a young age. He set up his first business as a chocolatier aged 12, and was the youngest ever person to have a product range stocked in Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Selfridges. He now works as a consumer psychology consultant, and hopes to use his lived experience of neurodivergence and mental health as a Trustee.

Nathalie Dullage

Nathalie Dullage  (she/her)

Trustee BA, MSc, PGCert, PGCE

Nat currently works at the University of Northumbria on a project with TEWV NHS Foundation Trust and the North East and Yorkshire Collaborative on the development and planning of the childrens' mental health workforce. She is also the Co-Lead on the Parent, Carer Peer Support Programme. She is a former Teacher and Assistant Psychologist with experience working within children’s mental health and is studying for a PhD on wellbeing in schools for neurodivergent pupils. Nat is neurodivergent and is also the parent of a neurodivergent teenager. She holds postgraduate degrees in psychology and mental health neuroscience, and is also the SEND and wellbeing governor of a local primary school.

James Inman

James Inman  (he/him)

James is a software developer and entrepreneur with lived experience of mental health and neurodivergence. He has built software applications used in over 90% of schools in the UK (primarily focused on child protection, safeguarding, and assessing students with SEND), and has been a Chief Technology Officer in international organisations. More recently, he has worked on solutions to provide neurodivergent adults with meaningful employment opportunities, and continues actively developing web and mobile applications. He is in the process of completing his MSc in Psychology

Steve Kuncewicz

Steve Kuncewicz  (he/him)

Trustee

Steve is a Partner and Head of Creative, Digital and Marketing at Glaisyers ETL. His specialism is Intellectual Property, Media, Social Media, Marketing and Privacy Law, and he is regularly listed as a 'Recommended Lawyer' in the Legal 500. He has been a Council Member of the Law Society since 2013, is an Honorary Solicitor and Board Member of the Manchester Publicity Association, and is a Non-Executive Director and Company Secretary of Rochdale Development Agency. Steve is a regular commentator (including on BBC Radio and in print) on social media, online publishing and related current affairs.

Nicole Mason-Clemenz

Nicole Mason-Clemenz  (she/her)

Nicole has worked in the public sector for the last 10 years, as a Parliamentary official, and then as a civil servant. As a public servant, she has worked in a number of strategy, governance and advisory roles. She has really enjoyed the elements of her work that have involved managing or providing training or support to diverse groups of people, and has undertaken work to progress Diversity and Inclusion within Parliament and in the Civil Service. Nicole has lived experience of neurodivesity, having been diagnosed with dyspraxia at an early age. She is passionate about supporting neurodiverse people to achieve fulfilling careers and better mental health outcomes.

Lucy Owen

Lucy Owen  (she/her)

Trustee BA (Hons), MCMI

Lucy is an operational excellence and strategy consultant working primarily with the charity sector, and was previously CEO of Dyspraxia Foundation and Head of First Lego League, working directly on programmes to involve children and young people in technology. She is experienced in content creation for a variety of audiences, and has a passion for supporting neurodiverse audiences. She has lived experience of mental health and neurodivergence.
